Buddhist Story: The Girl with Eye Pain. Once upon a time, there was a young girl who often complained of eye pain. An elderly neighbor lady asked her, "Does your eye pain really hurt that much?" She replied, "Yes! It's extremely painful." The old lady then said, "Everyone who has eyes will surely suffer from eye pain. Although my eyes haven't hurt yet, they will definitely hurt in the future. Therefore, I want to gouge out my eyes to avoid the pain later." Upon hearing this, the people nearby told her, "Eyes may only hurt sometimes, but if you gouge them out, won't you be in pain for the rest of your life?" Words of Wisdom: Unable to bear the immediate pain, one might choose to blind themselves, resulting in lifelong suffering. In life and when dealing with situations, one must always have a long-term perspective and not be misled by others.
