Buddhist Story: The Wise Little Bird. Many birds were captured and placed in cages. They were fed regularly every day, and their feathers were trimmed when they grew too long. Every day, the fattiest birds were choosed and sent to the kitchen to be cooked as dishes. So, one bird thought, "If I eat too much and grow fat, I will be killed. But if I don't eat, I will starve to death. I must calculate how much food I need each day, so that I gain just a little flesh while allowing my feathers to grow longer. Then, I can escape when they trim my feathers." Following this plan, the little bird finally managed to escape. Words of Wisdom: People often fall into traps of their own unawareness and cannot turn back. This wise little bird knew how to calmly analyze the situation and abandon its greed for food, thereby preserving its precious life.
