Buddhist Story: Dialogue Between Horses. One household used wheat to feed the pigs. Upon seeing this, a colt said to its mare: "We work hard for our master, braving distances and difficulties alike, yet all we eat is hay and drink is dirty water from the road. This is truly unfair." The mare replied, "You must not think like this and envy those pigs that eat wheat. When the time comes, you will understand." When the year-end festive season arrived, every household tied up their pigs and threw them into boiling water, where the pigs let out dying screams. At this moment, the mare asked the colt, "Do you still envy those pigs?" Words of Wisdom: Difficult environments cultivate people's proactive and resilient attitudes, while comfortable environments inevitably lead to destruction.
