Buddhist Story: The Lion Pretending to Be Sick. The old lion was too weak to hunt for food, so it pretended to be sick and lay in the cave moaning. When the wild animals came to visit it, they were all eaten by the lion. After the fox came, it saw through the trick and just stood at the entrance of the cave without going in. The lion asked the fox to come into the cave to chat, but the fox refused on the grounds that it only saw the footprints going into the cave but not those coming out. Words of Wisdom: It is wise to learn from the experiences of predecessors. Otherwise, one is a fool. The experiences of predecessors are precious and should not be underestimated.
