Buddhist Story: Enlightenment is Like Light.
A disciple asked the Buddha, The Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss that you speak of, I cannot see it. How can I believe in its existence?
The Buddha led the disciple into a dark room and said to him, There is a hammer in the corner of the room.
No matter how hard the disciple strained his eyes, whether wide open or squinted, his hands remained unable to discern even the faintest trace of light, so he could only reply that he couldn't see anything.
The Buddha then lit a candle, and indeed, there was a hammer in the corner of the room.
Does that which you cannot see, not exist?
