Buddhist Story: Awakening in Life. Once upon a time, in a small town, there lived an old monk and a young man. The young man often lamented about the seemingly endless passage of time, feeling aimless and idle. The old monk, smiling silently, led him to the mountains to observe the flowing water. The water rushed by swiftly, and leaves fell, disappearing in the blink of an eye. The old monk softly spoke, "Life is like the flowing water, and the falling leaves signify the chill of autumn. What seems like a long journey is but a fleeting moment. Do not wait until your hair turns white to regret that your dreams have not been fulfilled."We should act kindly and make the most of our youth, not letting it slip away.
