Buddhist Story: The Way to Play the Erhu. A man, facing life's unpredictability after losing his family, sought to become a monk. He rigorously practiced, abstaining from food, drink, and sleep, yet saw no progress and felt disappointed. Upon learning of this, the Buddha asked him, "You were once a player of the erhu. What happens if the strings are too loose or too tight?" He replied, "If the strings are too loose, no sound can be produced. If they are too tight, the strings will snap, making it impossible to play." The Buddha further inquired, "What happens if the strings are adjusted just right?" He joyfully answered, "Then beautiful music can be played!" Wisdom: Finding the right method is key. Excess or deficiency hinders success. The right direction and perseverance yield better results.
