Buddhist Story: Upstairs Knife Sharpening.
There was a poor man who worked hard for the king every day.
One day, the king granted a poor man a dead camel. Excited, he prepared to dissect it with his knife for market, but the blade was dull. Remembering the whetstone was upstairs, he sharpened it, then returned to cut the camel. After a few cuts, the blade dulled again, forcing him to rush back up to sharpen it once more.
In this manner, he ran up and down the stairs more than ten times, leaving his legs sore and weak. In the end, he simply carried the entire camel upstairs to sharpen his knife.
Words of Wisdom: It is important to know how to do things the right way. Otherwise, no matter how hard you work, your gains will be minimal, and you will only waste your efforts.
