Buddhist Story: The Man with Two Wives. A man married two wives, both of whom were extremely jealous. If the husband showed closer affection to one wife, the other would fly into a rage. The husband was helpless and so, when sleeping at night, he had to lie between the two, daring not to lean towards either wife to avoid making the other angry. One day, it rained heavily, and the house leaked. Water and mud dripped directly onto the husband's eyes. Fearful of making his wives angry, he dared not turn to avoid the rain, and as a result, his eyes were blinded in this way. Words of Wisdom: In marital relationships, couples should strive for harmony and mutual care. Jealousy only hurts oneself and others.
