Buddhist Story: The Thief of Melons.
The monk Nasa said, "There was a man who stole someone's melons and was caught by the owner. He was brought before the king, where the owner reported to the king, 'This man stole my melons.' The thief replied, 'I did not steal his melons. He planted tiny melon seedlings, not melons. What I took were melons, not seedlings. Therefore, I should not be guilty!'"
Nasa then asked the king, "What should be done in such a case?"
The king replied, "The thief is guilty. Without planting the seedlings, where would the melons come from? Hence, he is undoubtedly guilty."
Words of Wisdom: Avoid greed, anger, ignorance, pride, and doubt. Desire for wealth brings suffering; the more greedy, the more troubles.
