Buddhist Story: The Conditions of the Conch Shell. Once upon a time, in a country where the sound of a conch shell had never been heard, a skilled conch shell blower arrived. He picked up the conch and blew three times, and the villagers, startled by the sound, rushed over to ask, "What is this sound, so melodious and enchanting?" The man pointed to the conch and said, "It is this that makes the sound." The villagers touched the conch and asked, "How can it make such a sound?" The man then picked up the conch and blew three more times, explaining to the villagers, "The delightful sound you just heard is not solely due to the power of the conch. It requires the coordination of the hand, the mouth, and the breath to produce it!" Wisdom Nugget: Many things, like the conch shell, require numerous conditions and factors to come together before they can produce a sound. A single hand cannot clap, and no one can accomplish anything alone.
