Buddhist Story: Kangaroo's Leap. A new kangaroo arrived at the zoo, fenced in at one meter high. The next day, it was found outside, so the fence was raised to two meters. On the third day, still outside, the fence was raised to three meters. The giraffe in the adjacent enclosure asked the kangaroo, "How high does this fence need to be to keep you in?" The kangaroo replied, "It's hard to say, maybe five meters, maybe ten meters, or even a hundred meters high. If the keeper keeps forgetting to lock the fence gate." Words of Wisdom: The situation one is in is often shaped by one's past attitudes. Persisting in wrong beliefs and refusing to change may render all efforts futile.
