Buddhist Story: The Peacock and the Lark. The peacock paraded its beauty in front of the lark. The lark told the peacock, "Don't be so conceited. People say I am the most beautiful!" The peacock was very surprised and said, "That's impossible! How could you be more beautiful than me?" The lark chuckled and said, "Why not? Let me tell you! Your beauty lies only in your tail; whereas my beauty lies in my voice. Don't you understand which is more important, the tail or the voice?" Words of Wisdom: Beauty in the voice surpasses beauty in the tail, just as beauty within the heart far outweighs beauty on the outside.
