Buddhist Story: Tempered into Steel. A disciple asked the Buddha, "Why can everyone practice and become a Buddha?" "Because everyone has the Buddha-nature," replied the Buddha. "I still don't quite understand!" said the man. The Buddha patiently explained to him again, "Iron ore contains iron elements, so it can be tempered into steel through countless smeltings. The Buddha-nature is just like the iron elements in iron ore. Therefore, people can become Buddhas through cultivation, just as iron ore can be refined into steel." Words of Wisdom: Don't underestimate your own abilities, for all success starts with your own efforts. And don't blame others for failures, because to some extent, failures are caused by yourself.
