Buddhist Story: The Patriotic Buddha. King Virūdhaka attacked Buddha's homeland. A day with a high sun, he saw Buddha under a withered tree. "Why here in the heat?" he asked. Buddha said, "A country is like tree limbs giving shade. Mine's about to fall, and I'll be exposed." Touched, King Virūdhaka said, "I'll withdraw." Words of Wisdom: All are responsible for a country. Without it, people have no haven. We should contribute.
