Buddhist Story: The Magic Elixir. A king got a daughter at fifty. He ordered the doctor to get a magic elixir for the princess to grow up fast. The doctor asked for time to gather herbs and during that, the princess had to leave the palace and not meet the king. The king reluctantly agreed. Twelve years later, the doctor returned, gave the princess the medicine and brought her to the palace. The king, seeing the grown-up princess, rewarded the doctor. But the people laughed at the king, saying the princess grew up because of the twelve years, not the elixir. Words of Wisdom:Many seek shortcuts for immediate gains, not willing to work hard, like the king who waited twelve years.
